Carpet Cleaning in basement/dog play area

Herman and Michael were the two cleaners that came to my home. They arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule!! They were polite and courtesy. They gave me several options and showed me some of the cleaners and mats they had for sale but were not pushy at all. My carpet looked great and the room smelled wonderful when they were done. They cleaned my very large basement area in a little over an hour. I would recommend Stanley Steemer to friends and family and I would request Herman and Michael to come clean again. I had a great experience and will be a repeat customer.

Carpets looks worse then before they came

Not only did they show up at 9 am for a one o'clock appt, casts aren't clean, dog doo still stuck, huge white streaks left behind, ..some in efficient pair that have been sent before, prices are to high , work poor, all around terrible must call another carpet cleaner to re clean what I've wasted my money on with these losers ...never recommend , will never use again....! Horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible,... And unbelievably , if you want hardwood cleaned, I was informed its 150 00 an hour, for two slow pkes to work at there slow pace ...I hate your company, and and don't care for whom was sent to my home...done with Stanley steamer for good

Stanley Steemer Cleaning Service Review

I have my own home model carpet clesning machine but wanted a "professional" cleaning. Carpet was left extremely wet, even 5 hours later it was soaking my socks. So I used my own home carpet cleaner to extract the excess water myself. Also, the workmen use very hard-sell tactics trying to sell you contracts for periodic cleanings.

What a disappointment and waste of money

I have used Stanley Steamer for 30 years and have always been satisfied, that is until now. I had my carpets cleaned on 8/22/14.

It took longer to set up the equipment than it took to actually clean the carpets. Quite frankly, the carpets looked no better than before. I decided to wait until they were dry before making a final judgment. Also, there were a number of areas that were not even touched as they were not even damp!

My husband and I are senior citizens, no kids running around etc. Upon close inspection, the "cleaned" carpet was far from clean and flat as a pancake! I called the company immediately, and the gal said she would send a crew the on 8/25 to redo the carpets. I was assured that it would be a different crew.

I received no call before they arrived, and to my chagrin, it was the same person who returned....this time with an attitude.

And the job took less than 8 minutes! Never again.

Must be Delray Beach franchise in South Florida. I had same experience only more costly.

The bad attitude must be a requirement for employment there. Skip demanding to talk to the owner (Jud Bradlee), as he is a bigger A--H--- than the cleaners. I would recommend if you try this incompetent group, always pay with a credit card.....and if you get no satisfaction DISPUTE the charge.

Only then will you have the last laugh with that ***.

Stanley Steemer - Cleaning Service Review from Chicago, Illinois

I called around getting quotes to have the carpet cleaned in my townhome. The woman on the phone was very nice and gave me a quote that was reasonable to the others, so decided to go with them. When the crew arrived, one of the workers said, "We have a problem." After calling his boss, he informed me that I was given a quote for "two steps" versus two stairwells. Who has only two steps in a townhome? The cost of the job ended up being far more than any of the other quotes I was given. Had I known, I would have gone with another company. I had taken time off of work to have this done, so felt entrapped to get the job done. Is misquoting Stanley Steemer's way of getting the job, knowing they are already there to do the job?

Ma'am, just because a crew is already there at your home does not mean you have to allow them to do the job. If the price differs from what they originally told you, you can say no thank you and have them leave.

Bad business

Bad news, my two year carpet traffic aria looks as bad as it did, My tile is not as clean as the sample aria that was cleaned with a wire brush, The dirt sample from my couch came off a two week old couch, My iPad left when the workers did, I used it at it's charging station, now gone. I think They should have read there reviews. Now they will not return my phone calls, all I got was one responce Thayer said They would contact me. They do work for commission so I guess you may expect this but show me how dirty my couch is when it's brand new.

know what happens when you walk across the grass over and over through the same path? breaks down to a dirt path, right? same happens with carpet.

I swear, our customers are purely *** and don't know anything about what they complain about. Dumb@$$

Don't use this company

They advertise a price to get in the door, then spent more time selling then cleaning. We were told that there was black mold and that they could not only treat it but it would never come back. The invoice only showed that a fragrance was charged, both were lies. My son and grandson had a allergic reaction to the chemicals used for the mold. Management insisted they don't treat for mold. Management was contacted again and we were told they would re-clean and refund the money charged for the fragrance treatment (mold). They did re-clean the carpet but we never received the refund. We will never use this company again.

Stains remained and floors soaked down to padding

I had Stanley Steemer come out on a Thursday to clean a large area rug, 3 rooms of carpet upstairs, as well as a large double sized rec room and play room downstairs. We were told that the carpets would be dry by the following morning when we woke up.

This was definitely not the case the next morning the carpets were still extremely wet to the touch so much so that water pulled around your foot when you stepped down on them. We decided to not worry about it we were going to give it another day or so. By Sunday afternoon I was calling SS to advise them that there were stains left on all the carpets...that I at 8 months pregnant had to get down on my hands and knees to remove (obviously I was unhappy because after all this is why I paid them $300 plus) and more importantly the basement floors were still soaked and wreaking to high heaven of some ungodly funky smell. We were to have a family gathering that Sunday in the rec room that had to be moved creating a lot of extra unnecessary work.

I was told that a "Senior Crew" would be out the next day to access the situation and reclean if needed. The next day one young tech arrived...checked the floors. The tech noted the floors were still wet at that point. The tech called a manager because he didn't know what he should do and came back in with orders to spray a deodorizer on the floors and see if that handled the problem.

2 days later wetness and smell still there I called to speak to a manager. I didn't get a call back from the manager for 2 days. At that time the floors were pretty much dry and smell had disapated but was still lingering a little. I explained that I was not satisfied being that I paid for a service to make things easier on myself and was inconvenienced in the process.

I was told another manager would call me that following Monday and that in the meantime they would discuss what to do about my inconvenience ....whether it was to come out at a later time to have carpets cleaned again (wasnt happening) or what have you. On Monday I was contacted by the second manager I advised carpets were finally dry and smell was all but gone. I did express that I felt something needed to be done for all the inconvenience this caused. I was told he would get back to me yet again.

Well instead that Friday I received a gift certificate in the mail for $100. I honestly feel this is a slap in the face as the floors that they caused to smell so excessively that a party had to be moved cost more then this to clean. I really feel a callback to me would have been professional not sending me a worthless gift certificate that will not even cover the cost of having the floors cleaned again....if I even trusted SS to ever touch my carpet again, which I don't. I called to speak to someone in a higher position and got a voicemail.

I shall see how this turns out. I just feel $325 is a lot of money to spend for 2 weeks worth of wet stinking floors that I still had to scrub spot stains out of.

Good Morning My name Mrs.Williams I live in Philly I had appointment Saturday @ 1:00pm they get there and they machine did't work so they had to leave to meet someone to get another machine when they came back they had to leave again to get the cord for the machine that they went to get so they had to leave twice and when they came back they did't my kitchen and when they got to my dining room they said it was some kind of build up on the floor so they said they don't have the stuff on the trunk to get it off. So then they called they supervisor and said they would come out Sunday no one call me and said anything this is right before the holiday. I'm trying to call someone from Ohio. Can someone from that office call me thank you !!!

Don't charge what they quote

I had my carpets cleaned and John (tech) kept on telling me to buy additional services. He and his partner seemed to be more intent on chatting on the cell.

He talked me into air duct cleaning and told me that they could do it the next day, it took a week for them to get an appointment as they only have 1 truck. I was quoted a price for the ducts which included 20, each additional $15. Well they charged me after 12. I was shocked when I got the bill.

I spoke with the manager who seems like he could care less. He said that prices are quoted before the job with initials. This did not occur either time. He claims he is going to pull the phone call.

I hope he does so that he can hear what was quoted.

I caution anyone in Pittsburgh to avoid this company. They quote one price and then charge another after they are done.

Never showed up never called

Called to make an appointment on 8/29/14 they said it would be between 12-3 pm on 9/2/14 waited from 12- 3pm call office at 3:30 whey told me it was canceled the person on the phone said he did not know why it was canceled. he called his dispatcher and he had no answer for me to tell me what was the issue was he then said to me the best he could do was to send a truck on thursday. i will not take a a chance on them again. have used their services several times in the past i found this to be very poor business practice i will never use them again.

Moved my own furniture, truck broke down, horrible customer service

Cleaning men arrived smelling like they have been cleaning all day. The cleaning started in too floor. Cleaning men DID NOT move any furniture , which was okay for really large furniture, piano etc. However, i didnt want them cleaning around items, i wanted items moved in order for the entire caroet to ve cleaned. i had to move my own firniture. I am a female and had to move the furniture if I wanted the carpet cleaned. One- year old did not clean well for high traffic area. Service was interrupted for over an hour when service truck broke down. Manager horrible customer service..telling me how long the company has been in service. Too bad I don't care about that. I care about clean carpet!

Stanley Steemer - Cleaning Service Review

Will NEVER us Stanley Steemer again. Carpet looked worse after. They worked as quickly as they could and didn't bother to treat spots or go over heavy traffic areas. After the carpet was dry...there was dark dirt lines left behind. When we spoke to management to complain, the manager was rude and unprofessional. BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You haven't met rude and unprofessional until you call Stanley Steemer of Delray Beach Florida! Ask for Judson Bradley....the GM....he wrote the book...after he crawled out from under his rock in OHIO.....

that *** wont honor any guarantee.... a disgrace to Stanley Steemer and the other franchises that operate with ethics

Stanley Steemer - Cleaning Service Review

I had Stanley Steamer come out to clean my new tile floors in my new home before we moved in. I asked what they would be cleaning with & they told me acid wash. They also where to seal the grout lines at the same time. When they were finished the floors didn't look any better than before & I told them that. The cleaning person said it might take a few cleanings. I couldn't believe this. Wasn't that the whole purpose of having you clean my floors. I called to complain & was treated very rudely. The woman said we never clean with acid the first time & basically called me a liar. She did offer to come back out, but at this point they had lost my trust. I ask her why the cleaning people didn't stop cleaning when they saw the film wasn't coming off & clean with what would take it off? They are supposed to be the professionals. I ask her to have the manager call me back. I never recived a call. I finally reached the manager and he immediately started screaming & cursing at me. He said it's not our fault the tile people did a shoddy job & now you want to blame us. I did call the tile company & told the about Stanley Steamer. They sent someone out & in 3hrs our floors were spotless with no charge. The cleaning person also said there was no sign of any grout sealant being applied to our floors which was something else I paid Stanley to do. The manager is refusing to refund any of the 626.00 we paid to have our floors cleaned & sealed so now we still have to pay someone to come back & seal our grout. Thanks for listening & I hope something can be done to fix this. I know this isn't Stanley Steamers practice of doing business, but these individuals.

I had them To clean my carpet in two bedrooms in the new home I bought and they were their for 20 min and the purpose of me paying $120 was so they could get rid of pet urin smell and when the carpet dryer I had smelled it and it did not smell like they used any cleaner I'm shore all they did was wet the carpet and, in a few days the smell got worse and started to effect the clothes in the closet so I went and bought. May $400 carpent cleaner and went over the carpet and the water when I was done was black from all the pet people from befor I bought the house and That was my proof that stainless steamer never cleaned my carpet ,I took a photo of the black water and I will be presenting it with the manager tomorrow morning
