We got a quote from Stanley Steemer that I thought was a bit high, but went along with it. They showed up on time and started working, but after they would finish a room they would inform us that it was going to cost extra. Our living room/dining room cost double they said because it has two light fixtures, even though the entire thing put together is smaller than what they claim on their website is the size of an average living room.By the time they were done, our bill was almost $100 more than we were quoted. We paid $276 for the cleaning of a 1200 square foot house! Not only that, but today (the day after) our whole house stinks like an old gymnasium! I will never use them again. 12929b7

Very unhappy with the way my carpets looks after the cleaning. I used Stanley, so they could clean area stains, my own carpet cleaner did not get out. I paid $181 for the cleaning and every stain that my carpet cleaner could not get out is still there. The carpet is also a lot wetter than what my carpet cleaner leaves. Very dissapointed, considering I paid for something that did no better than my own carpet cleaner. Stanley advertised on TV and that is why I used them. Their promise of the services they do. I feel like I just wasted $181 dollars, felt this was too expensive from the very first quote but I was willing as long as the results were positive. Will not use them again.

I am the Office Manager at a family owned Indoor Air Quality Company, Air Quality Remediation. A week ago we began a new job cleaning air duct at a local refrigeration company, while on the job, an employee of Stanley Steemer named Ross, came on OUR job site and "threw rocks" at our company. After receiving a call from the business owner, we found out that Stanley Steemer had also bid on this job and apparently did not win the bid. Stanley Steemer decided they would come on our job site and talk down about our company, telling the owner "this company has no idea what they are doing", "their not doing this properly", etc... The poor business owner had no clue what to look for when it comes to air duct cleaning, which left him with concern. We handled the situation and assured our customer, to have no worries, the job was almost complete, and we guarantee he would be satisfied with the results. On the completion of the job, the customer was fully satisfied and wants our company to become a "regular". I personally have never used Stanley Steemer for anything, but after reading all of the terrible complaints, I NEVER WILL!!! Not only do the over charge their customers, for low quality carpet cleaning, but to send their "men" out to destroy other businesses! Dealing with Stanley Steamer is like dealing with the administration of a large hospital.....you just can't get anywhere. They are not local and have over 100 people manning a phone answering bank for scheduling. After not cleaning my carpet properly I scheduled them to come back. They missed that appointment. I rescheduled nearly three weeks later and SURPRISE no show by Stanley Steamer. I called to find out where they were and they claimed they had received a phone call canceling them and gee they just could not make it anytime today. Hmm. I say double thumbs down to Stanley Steamer. I encourage everyone to try ANY other company!!

we got ripped off this m073r f3k38s took forever to clean our carpet overcharged and they leave the carpet superwet not even funny.they claim to clean when all they do is bring the *** chart out and check every point to score more cash out of us. :( :x :?

Stanley Steemers . . . or Stanley Stealers, ripped up off, too. I live in the Cleveland area and they put a ton of water on my carpet, stayed wet for days; when it dried it looked the same. I called them back and they did the same thing, it didn't even smell like they were cleaning. I will never use them again and will warn everyone I know!

Honestly the real reason why it smells is because most vacuums can't get the dirt out and a steaming company put 5 gallons of water in your carpet and can't get it all out that's why it is still wet.

I think SS sucks. I know some people personally that work at the one in Lexington. A few of them are just ***. They are just concerned with selling and making money and they will hire just about anybody off the street. It's constant turnover. Maybe they should consider not hiring just anybody and also not being so hard on the employees they have. Also, don't have a drunk assistant manager working there.

Stanley Steemer of Frederick County, MD:total rip-off, carpets looks way worse when they finished, very little furniture was moved, and apparently customer service is a thing of the past. There is NO customer satisfaction guarantee i.e. they don't care. Steer Clear!
