I hired Stanley Steamers to come to my house and clean my carpets. I'd used them before and they did a great job. So when they came recently and suggested I try their new service for cleaning and sealing hardwood, I thought why not. First they cleaned my carpets and did a terrific job. Then they did the hardwood floors. My first concern was when the machine dumped gallons of water on my floors and then sucked it up. It seemed strange as I've always heard water was bad for hardwood but I figured they knew what they were doing. Then they immediately poured liquid polyeurothane all over the wood and told me to let it dry for at least 30 minutes. It took about an hour and was dry. Since they finished up at almost 8:30pm I just went to bed after the floors were dry. When I got up the next day, I looked at my floors to find the wood ruined. It was cracked and looked like it had horrible water damage". When I reported this, they send managers out to look at it and they agreed it shouldn't look like that/. They were to get back to me the next day with a resolution?. When they never called - I called them and was told, it was because I had "cheap floors" and that it was "normal wear and tear";. They offered to come pour a
matte finish over the floor to make it "less noticable".. I'm horrified and I will NEVER do business with Stanley Steamers again because of how this was handled/. I have reported this to the
better business bureau:. Please, please, please, if you do hire Stanley Steamers to do your wood floors (which I don't recommend), please have them do a test strip or test room and leave it alone for 24 hours before letting them do everything!. My floors will likely cost thousands to replace because of their
neglegence. 129262d
