we called stanley steamer to clean 1 room 2 rugs a love seat and couch..i was in a hurry to leave for work so i told my wife to handle it i told the guy i wanted to know how much so he told me that don't worry he would hook me up and i would be more than happy. Well i called home later when i aske dmy wife what was charged she told me 550.00i almost hit the roof i callled complained the owner came out with his crew to inspect , our house stinked like dirty water or somethin bad was going on , that was not what stinked to me , it was that 550 dollar charge that stinked. i asked the man who said he owned the business to explain 550 for the room , 2 rugs and 1 couch and love seat ...550 in these hard times, how is this even possible a man's weekly salary can be taken away in 1 hour by a ruthless company like stanley steamer...they tried to explain that they had to use other chemicals to protect the couch and love seat and 1 couch was 125 and also the love seat..the rep who did the work jumped to say he should have charged more for other things he did as a favor to us ..well that ticked me off and i told them to get out of my house , don't ever return and i would be taking htis up with the better business bureau...thieves i tell u 12925f9

I used to work for Stanley Steemer. The company

rips off the employees as well. :(

Some furniture is done by the square footage, like a couch, and area rugs are done the same way. Furniture can get expensive, I use to work for them.

I believe they should have told your wife the price as they were taking your wife through the process of what was being cleaned and the odor problem was probably a water damage from being wet for to long.Did the owner give you a card identifying himself doesnt mean he is the owner.

$550 seems like a good price to me. Sounds like your salary is not enough to be paying to have someone else clean your carpet and furniture

Sounds more like your wife is an *** for ordering additional services after the fact.
